How can we make Plickers better?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Mark a student absent

    I would like to be able to mark a student absent, so I don't continually think they didn't respond. If possible, the fraction could represent the number of people present that day.
    Example: I have 43 students enrolled in the class, 2 students are absent (which I would love to do via plickers - my first scan would be called attendance then if I could click their name and check a box or something to effectively eliminate them from the roster that day it would be amazing.   2. Google Classroom

    It would be great if you could integrate Plickers with Google Classroom. This would allow classes to be imported and results or questions to be inputted into the students grade for that assignment etc.

  3. Right now, we can't share our library with other teachers. Is it possible for us to download the questions we created in our library?

  4. Import/Export

    This is a great tool, but it is extremely time consuming for educators. Please modify so that importing questions from an Excel or CSV file is possible. Student results should be available in PDF format. Also, assigning individual questions to individual classes takes forever.

  6. A way to embed the live graph into Powerpoint

    With a direct embed into Powerpoint, there would be no clunky switches from presentation to plickers' site. The LiveWeb add-in for Powerpoint embeds the webpage, but is far too inelegant to the point that switching is often better.

  8. Scrambling questions/answers

    Having a scramble feature so that the order of the questions/answers are mixed between periods. If the questions/answers are in the same order period after period, my students pass on the answers to the next class.

  9. You should be able to resize images in questions so the class can see them!

    When I post images (especially when there is information of text on them) they are too small on the smart board for students to see. You should be able to resize the images just like you can do with the font.

  11. Duplicate/export/add a category

    Fantastic application. My pupils love working with Plickers. It would be even greater if one could :
    1. be able to duplicate (copy/paste) forms (question+answers)
    2. be able to export forms, to share them with other teachers
    3. add a category to forms to obtain a scoresheet associated with this category (mathematics, grammar...)

  13. Have a "Hide answers" button.

    This allows students to think/answer the question BEFORE seeing answers that will guide their thinking. Too often (especially in math, what I teach), the MC solutions guide student thinking, rather than the problem guiding thinking. I want to be able to hide the answers so that students are not working backwards and guessing based on the MC answers.

  15. Plickers in pe

    My co-workers and I thought of an idea for Plickers in PE.

    When running the mile it can be difficult to keep track of 50 or 90 students. While a teacher is trying to mark down a large group of students coming around the track, other students can be missed or may try cutting the lap when the teacher is not looking.

    Our idea is to utilize the plickers system to mark down laps and running time. The program would need a stopwatch and a # of laps setting(we have a 2 lap mile and a 4 lap mile at…

  16. Make Plickers fully usable completely offline, i.e. without internet connection.

    Wired or Bluetooth connections between the reader (phone, webcam, ...) and data processing/storage device (conputer) may be necessary but where internet connectivity is unreliable, a system which needs an internet connection is a non-starter.

  18. Printable Quiz

    Make the quiz printable so that students who are absent when the quiz is given will have the ability to take the quiz offline, on paper. This way, the student can make up the quiz and not hold up the class to do so.

    Android users can scan in portrait or landscape mode, and we’re currently working on this for iOS users. It should be available in a future app update! Hang in there!

  20. Connect it to Edmodo

    I'm using edmodo with my students, if it was connected this would be amazing. Student data would then be live.
