How can we make Plickers better?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Plickers in pe

    My co-workers and I thought of an idea for Plickers in PE.

    When running the mile it can be difficult to keep track of 50 or 90 students. While a teacher is trying to mark down a large group of students coming around the track, other students can be missed or may try cutting the lap when the teacher is not looking.

  2. Larger response panel

    I’m wondering if there is a way to change how large the student response panel is. My students like to see the checkmark appear by their name when I’ve received their response. However, since I have a large class, not all can see their name unless I go to the computer and scroll down.

    Hi Jennifer,

    Since last you wrote, we’ve updated the Live View with a larger panel and also moved the students’ card numbers inside the square checkmark box to save space and enable more student names to be displayed. Has this been helpful for you?

  3. ALLOW STUDENTS TO RESPOND WITH THEIR CELL PHONES

    90% of my students have cell phones. I wish there was a way like the Remind app where my students can respond via their phones in conjunction with their cards.

  5. Option for teacher to input students answer

    ​It would be great if there a way to easily input a students answer choice if they forgot their card that day. Most students have their cards most days, but there is always one or two per day that left their binder at home. It would be great if there was an easy way for me as the teacher to put in their answer selection, as opposed to printing them a new card every time

  6. great to have a completely anonymous mode. In Demo mode you can see the students letter response.

    I told the students that they could answer anonymously but I can see the letter response right above their card.

  8. Have a "Hide answers" button.

    This allows students to think/answer the question BEFORE seeing answers that will guide their thinking. Too often (especially in math, what I teach), the MC solutions guide student thinking, rather than the problem guiding thinking. I want to be able to hide the answers so that students are not working backwards and guessing based on the MC answers.

  9. Display correct answers with color only

    I'd like to be able to display the correct answers (by color only) so that a student knows if they are correct or not, and cannot peak at someone else's answer.

  10. Changing Views

    It would be great if there was a way that on the app you could change back and forth from the student view to the graph view on the computer. That way you don't have to be going back and forth to the computer switching the views. The student view is great so kids can see if their answer was recorded and the kids enjoy seeing the graph view.

  11. A way to embed the live graph into Powerpoint

    With a direct embed into Powerpoint, there would be no clunky switches from presentation to plickers' site. The LiveWeb add-in for Powerpoint embeds the webpage, but is far too inelegant to the point that switching is often better.

  12. Add some type of game integration. (Gamify Plickers)

    Qwizdom and Socrative both have games that are played when answering question. It is merely a graphical display of what students are answering the most positive questions.     I'm using edmodo with my students, if it was connected this would be amazing. Student data would then be live.

  15. Add url variables

    I use the Liveweb add-in for powerpoint to insert the live view screen into powerpoints and I would like to specify that the live view page open with the graph view rather than the list of students.

    Maybe I'm just lazy, but I'd like to avoid having to go over to my laptop to change the view when I use a clicker for changing slides.

  16. Mark a student absent

    I would like to be able to mark a student absent, so I don't continually think they didn't respond. If possible, the fraction could represent the number of people present that day.
    Example: I have 43 students enrolled in the class, 2 students are absent (which I would love to do via plickers - my first scan would be called attendance then if I could click their name and check a box or something to effectively eliminate them from the roster that day it would be amazing.     Android users can scan in portrait or landscape mode, and we’re currently working on this for iOS users. It should be available in a future app update! Hang in there!

  18. Save picture of Question

    When doing questions on the fly, the question is written on the white/black/smart board, then I quickly put the question and answer into the app to record the result.

    It would be really helpful if, instead of re-writing out the entire question, I could put in a picture (I'm on my phone with a camera anyway) of the question as I've already written it in the board. Then later, when i review the data, I know what they were answering, instead of having "Poll 47010".

  19. Create and edit classes in the app

    It would be nice to be able to create/edit classes in the app. That way, if you get a new student, it's easy to add them without signing into the website.

    Enable "Log-in with Google" so we don't need a separate account. I can log-in to this support page with Google, but not the actual site??
