    Hey Devin,

    Thanks for trying it out and reporting back! Sorry it didn't work. It may be that there's a less-aggressive wide-angle lens that will still allow scanning of cards at enough distance.

    It might also work better in the setup Benyka described - where students bring their cards up to the device to answer as they leave.

    Interesting! Where would you want to put the webcam? Are you hoping to use the built-in one on a laptop or another connected via USB?

    How about mounting a smartphone? Maybe an old Android or iOS device (iPod Touch..). Put a wide-angle lens on, and you're all set. Plickers used to be webcam-based, but the smartphone version has been much easier for everyone.

  5. This app is a good idea, but execution is lacking. It doesn't work at all on android.

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for your feedback. We're looking forward to adding those features - managing classes in-app, creating and sharing content (questions and quizzes), and others - very soon. Up to now, we've tried to focus on what sets us apart from other classroom tools - real-time assessment without student devices - rather than on the (important) improvements you mention.

    For now, you can create your classes online at http://www.plickers.com/classes - sign in with the same email and password you used in the app. You'll have to manage questions and quizzes on your own. Let us know whether that helps.

    @Greg: this might be hard to make work - if we have the same pattern and rotation on the back, the answers won't match front-back: A-A, B-D, C-C, D-B.

    So we'd need to have a different pattern on the back. This is something we're thinking about, but we might use it to add more answer choices.

    That's great to hear! We're glad you like it.

    You're right; the video on the website shows an early version that used a webcam instead of a smartphone. We'll update it to reflect the smartphone version. Thanks for the tip!
