Hide Student Names on the Live View Default +“Reveal Answer” Screen.
This way individual students can see if they got the question correct or incorrect but their classmates will not easily be able to see who missed the question (unless they have all of their classmates' numbers memorized).

commentedAll you have to do to make it so they don't know who answered what is: click live view, leave the student panel on the right up, unselect reveal answer on the student page. That way, you can see who answered, but not what they answered. Then, toggle over to the graph tab and select reveal answer. This will show you how many students answered each choice but not individual students. It's completely private.

commentedI'm sorry, but I don't really understand why this is a problem. If you turn off "reveal answer" then the kids can all aee whose answers have been picked up by the scanner. That allows them to see when they can put their cards down, but it doesn't show the whole class what each person chose as their answer. Why would you even want "reveal answer" activated while you're scanning? That would enble students to change their answers if a different answer seems more popular.

commentedI worked around this by showing the graph, but moving it off the screen while I was scanning the students' cards. We can see quickly if we've scanned everyone's card. I just shouted out a student's name if I couldn't read their card. They knew which answer they gave and were able to check their answer when I revealed the graph with the correct answer revealed. A bit cumbersome, but it's definitely doable as a work around.

commentedI need this. I went back in and removed all of the names from my roster because of students who are self-conscious about getting questions wrong in front of the whole class. It would be fine to show the card number but not the student's name since they don't know each other's card numbers. I know you can hide the panel, but then they can't see if their card was actually read nor can they see if they were right or wrong.
