Allow webcam scanning
GradeCam has software that allows you to check scantrons using your webcam. I think Plickers is a phenomenal idea and it would be even more awesomer (deliberate use of horrible language) if kids could hold their cards up towards the camera as they walked out of the room. That way, teachers could post a one-question exit ticket on the board and collect data to the very last second of instruction.

Hey Devin,
Thanks for trying it out and reporting back! Sorry it didn't work. It may be that there's a less-aggressive wide-angle lens that will still allow scanning of cards at enough distance.
It might also work better in the setup Benyka described - where students bring their cards up to the device to answer as they leave.

With a stand for the phone and a wide eye lens you are not all set. The wide eye lens zooms out too much and can't read the cards as the kids are too far away now.

Interesting! Where would you want to put the webcam? Are you hoping to use the built-in one on a laptop or another connected via USB?
How about mounting a smartphone? Maybe an old Android or iOS device (iPod Touch..). Put a wide-angle lens on, and you're all set. Plickers used to be webcam-based, but the smartphone version has been much easier for everyone.
*** If you're interested in this idea, please leave a comment explaining why you'd prefer it to the current iOS/Android apps. ***
Thanks!!
