Judith Chalmers dies
TV presenter Judith Chalmers, who was best known for presenting ITV travel show Wish You Were Here...? has died at the age of 90.
The popular broadcaster, who was appointed an OBE in 1994, began working for the BBC at the age of just 13 and went on to present radio shows Woman's Hour and Family Favourites. Chalmers later moved to ITV to host daytime magazine show Good Afternoon before presenting Wish You Were Here...?, which launched in 1974.
She fronted the primetime show, which saw her travel all over the world, for nearly 30 years, stepping away in 2003.
Chalmers passed away at home on Thursday evening after living with Alzheimer's disease in her final years.
On Friday, her family - which includes her husband, former sports commentator Neil Durden-Smith, and her son, TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith - confirmed the sad news in a statement.
