How durable are headstones over time is a question worth researching before you order. This article https://memoryheadstones.com/blog/how-durable-are-headstones-over-time/ explains what affects long-term performance: granite grade, finish type, climate exposure, and maintenance. I used it to evaluate the options Memory Headstones presented. They recommended a polished black granite that the article confirmed is among the most durable choices. The stone has been installed over a year and shows no change in the engraving or the surface finish. A useful reference.
